FAQs about the Rental Application Form and renting equipment from Videocraft
Please note the rental application form must be filled out at least 48 hours prior to your rental, and may take up to 24 hours to process. We will not rent gear to anyone without going through this process first.
Should I use the Business Use or Personal Use Form?
If you do not have an ABN or ACN then select the option ‘personal use’. Please fill in all fields in the form.
Why do I need to provide references?
This is a requirement of our insurance company. Please provide 3 references which cannot include family members. Preferably provide details of other businesses you trade with on a regular basis, including business name, the contact person and their phone number. We will call them to ask about your trading history with them. If you are applying under business use, you must provide 3 business references including contact names and phone numbers for the person you deal with at each business. Again we need to check these references prior to renting to you.
Failure to supply 3 usable references and details will delay processing of your rental application.
Why would I need to supply authorization for my runner to pick up my gear?
On the rental application form there is a section called “PERSONS AUTHORISED TO COLLECT ON YOU OR ON BEHALF OF THE COMPANY”. If you are going to authorize someone to hire or pick up on behalf of yourself or your company, you must provide to us their full name, license number, and they must provide 3 forms of ID, on collection of the equipment. Is this an application for credit?
Please note also that the Rental Application Form is not an application for credit. We do not run accounts for rentals and all rentals are strictly COD on collection. This form is also not a booking form, and does not ensure the availability of equipment, nor is it a confirmation of a booking.
What forms of Identification can I provide?
On collection of equipment you will need to provide at least 3 of the following forms of identification
- Current Driver’s License
- Credit card
- Medicare card
- Current Passport
- Or a services bill indicating your business or residential address
Interstate or international customers may provide scanned copies of the above, by prior arrangement, which can be emailed or faxed to the details below
How do I make payment for my rental?
Our payment terms are strictly C.O.D on collection of the equipment or prior to. We do not accept cash payments for first time hirers. A credit card or EFTPOS payment must be made for the first time hirers.
We do not accept credit card details over the telephone. If the cardholder will not present to sign the credit card receipt in person, we can send a credit card authority form, which must be filled in and signed by the card holder, and faxed or scanned and emailed back to us.
Alternatively you can pay by EFT into the Videocraft account at least 24 hours prior to the collection of your order of rental equipment. EFT payments typically take 24 hours or more to process and we will not release the equipment unless the funds have appeared in our account. What is a rental contract?
A rental contract must be signed before any equipment leaves our store. Regardless of whether you or your representative collects the gear, or if a courier is arranged, this must be completed. If you are not collecting the equipment in person, we can Fax or Email you a copy to sign, and it must be returned signed before the gear leaves our store.
When you or your authorised representative signs our rental contract, you are entering a legal agreement to agree to the terms and conditions on our rental contract. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with these terms and conditions before you sign the contract.
I need my rental gear delivered. How do I go about this?
Provided you have rented from us before, and you have made payment, we can organise a courier to deliver your equipment. Delivery fees will be added to your rental charge. The price varies according to how many items we are sending, where it is going, and how quickly you want it. Although our courier service is generally reliable, we cannot promise a delivery time and if you require urgent delivery of your equipment, you are better to arrange this yourself.
Can I get my rental gear delivered if this is my first time hiring?
If you are a first time hirer you must still fill in a rental application form, then come in to Videocraft to provide ID, or scan and email it as per the section on identification above. Once we are happy with this, and you have made payment, we can send your gear wherever you like
Can I walk in to Videocraft office, fill out a rental application form, and hire on the same day?
No. We do not accept walk-ins, you are most welcome to come in to enquire, and look at our gear, but we won’t be able to hire out equipment to you on the same day. Our insurance company requires all rental customers to fill in the form online and submit it, and we require at least 24hrs to process the application form, before we will rent gear to you.
